Volunteer Counsellor Recruitment 

Are you a female Counsellor, interested in developing your practice and experience with survivors of rape and sexual abuse?

Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) are looking to recruit a number of Volunteer Counsellors to support our service in Sheffield.

SRASAC is a specialist service offering free and confidential support to empower men, women and children who have experienced rape or sexual abuse at any time in their lives.

We are looking for women from a diverse range of backgrounds who value, and are committed, to working in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Applications from qualified counsellors with a minimum of 250 counselling hours are welcome

Please note that it is an occupational requirement of this role that post holders are female, in line with the Equality Act 2010, schedule 9, part 1 and paragraph 1. 

In return we will offer you…

o   Initial in-house training, focusing on the issues of rape and sexual abuse

o   Opportunity to gain specialist experience of work with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

o   Opportunities for ongoing training for working with complex needs/trauma etc.

o   Group supervision, and payment towards individual personal supervision.
